SOMETHING IS RULING YOUR LIFE
THAT YOU DID NOT CHOOSE.
You might already know what it is. You might just feel it. You might not see it at all. Either way, Inner Architecture Work helps you find it, name it, and change it.
A 90-minute working session. No pitch.
Real work from the start.
Founded by David Heaps. Former COO.
Over a decade studying with indigenous teachers in the Amazon.
Two Ways People Arrive at This Work
Something Broke
A relationship ended. A career collapsed. A health scare changed the terms. The life you built stopped making sense, and the tools you used to hold it together are not working anymore.
You are looking for solid ground. You do not need to know what is wrong or have words for it. Inner Architecture Work starts where you are. No preparation. Just willingness to look honestly at what is happening.
You Have Put in the Work. The Pattern Has Not Changed.
You have read the books. Done the retreats. Maybe even years of therapy. You understand your patterns better than most people understand anything about themselves.
And the pattern has not changed. The same reaction in the same situations. The same cycle wearing a different face. The same heaviness that no amount of awareness seems to lift.
You have plenty of insight. What is missing is the bridge between knowing and actually changing. Inner Architecture Work builds that bridge.
" In every session, in the most unexpected of ways, David manages to turn the lights on in rooms I was not aware existed in me. "
ALFONSO
What Inner Architecture Work Does
This is not therapy. It is not coaching in the conventional sense. It is structural change work.
You come in with something that is not working. A reaction you cannot stop. A weight you cannot explain. A relationship that keeps breaking in the same place. We do not start with your history. We start with what is happening right now.
From there, we find the specific rule underneath it. Not a theory about you. The actual belief, living in your body, firing before you have time to think. Most people have never seen it clearly. Many have never been shown where to look.
Once it is visible, we name it. And once it is named, you are no longer at its mercy.
Then the real work begins. You practice a different response under real pressure, in your actual life, over months, until what used to rule you no longer does.
The reactions do not disappear. They lose their power. And they keep losing it. What used to take over for days passes in hours. What used to take over for hours passes in minutes. The further you go, the less grip they have.
Why Understanding and Insight Alone Are Not Enough
Inner Architecture Work produces real insight. It often reveals things that years of therapy, spiritual practice, or self-reflection have not reached. But insight is the beginning of change, not the end of it.
At some point, you will understand something about yourself with complete accuracy and the behavior will not change. That is not a failure. It is the moment you discover that understanding and changing are two different things. The reaction lives in a different place than the insight, and it is faster.
Some people arrive here having already hit that wall hundreds of times. If that is you: the insight you have accumulated is real and it matters. But the pursuit of more insight can become its own protection against the pain of not changing. More retreats, more books, more medicine, more therapy, even a bigger community. The cycle continues. The vocabulary grows. The ability to talk about it gets more sophisticated. But the behavior stays the same.
You are not lazy. You are not naive. You have searched with real sincerity and determination, and the searching was worthwhile. At some point, the searching leads back to you. Not as a consolation. As the only place the answer ever lived.
Whether you are just beginning to see what has been operating underneath, or you have seen it clearly for years and cannot make it stop, the next step is the same: practice.
" David is a deeply attuned coach who will tell you the truth you need to hear in order to grow. He is one of the few people in this world that I truly and deeply respect. "
KRISTIAN
What Changes
The cycle that has been ruling your reactions loses its grip. You stop having the same fight repeatedly. You stop saying yes when you mean no. You notice the old reflex surface and, for the first time, you do not follow it.
This is not a dramatic overnight shift. It is gradual, and then unmistakable.
The people around you might notice before you do. Not because you have become someone new. Because you stopped disappearing behind the automatic version of yourself.
Decisions get simpler. Not because life gets easier, but because you are no longer making them from a place that was built when you were seven.
Something quieter takes root. You stop bracing for what might happen and start being where you actually are.
The Inner Architecture Audit
COMPLIMENTARY // 90 MINUTES // VIRTUAL
A 90-minute working session where we identify the specific rule driving the cycle you are caught in. Not a consultation. Not an intake. Real work from the start. We listen to what is breaking down right now. We find where the reaction lives in your body. We trace it to its source. And we name it. You leave with a clear picture of what has been operating underneath. The Audit is complimentary. If what we find together is worth pursuing, we talk about what ongoing work looks like. If not, you still leave with something you can use.

How We Work Together
The Arc
6 MONTHS // INDIVIDUAL
For people interested and ready to do the sustained work of changing what we find in the Audit. Three phases: Excavation (identifying the core rules and mapping how they show up), Architecture (practicing new responses under real pressure), and Integration (consolidating what has been built and closing with intention). 90-minute sessions, every other week. A defined container with a beginning, a middle, and a completion.
Couples and Partners
6 MONTHS // TWO PEOPLE
For two people in a relationship where the same dynamic keeps surfacing and neither person can break the cycle alone. We identify the rules each person is carrying, how they interact, and where the real friction lives beneath the story both people are telling. This is not couples counseling. It is Inner Architecture Work applied to the space between two people. Same structure as The Arc. Six months. Three phases.
I did not study how the mind works from a textbook. I studied my own. Questioned it. Sat with it for over a decade, including more than 10,000 hours in complete silent isolation with indigenous teachers in the Amazon, until I learned the difference between being inside the mind and being able to observe it.
Before that, I was a corporate Chief Operating Officer. I know what it looks like to function at a high level while something underneath is slowly eroding the foundation.
What I do now is the product of both of those lives. I bring operational precision to work that most people treat as soft or abstract. I am not interested in vague insights or open-ended exploration. I am interested in helping you find the specific thing that is ruling your behavior, name it, and change it.
Some of my clients are founders and CEOs. Others are artists, parents, people in crisis, people who have done years of spiritual work and are ready to ground it in reality. The methodology is the same regardless of who is sitting across from me.
I work virtually from the Seattle area.
I also work with founders, CEOs, and executive teams through Leadering.

Start Here
The Inner Architecture Audit is a complimentary 90-minute session. It is not a sales call. It is the work itself.
We will identify something specific: the rule that is driving the cycle you are caught in, where it lives in your body, and how it has been shaping your life. You will leave with something you did not have when you arrived.
If what we find is worth pursuing together, we will talk about it. If it is not, you still walk away with something you can use.
